My Journey

I’m Alex Gibson. My fitness journey began some years ago while I was in high school. I was always a smaller guy and definitely struggled to gain weight. After football season my senior year I was fortunate enough to be given a roster spot at a Carroll University. After that there was no choice but to gain weight. Those last 6 months or so were a grind but I was able to finally see progress. It was so fulfilling to see and feel my hard work pay off. I was able to gain 30lbs of lean mass before starting college and felt very accomplished in doing so. This experience planted a love for health and fitness that I had never really had before.

College

I ended up attending Carroll University, where I was blessed to play football for 4 years. I graduated Carroll with a Bachelor’s of Science in Biology and a Minor in Animal Behavior. After college I was convinced that I wanted to teach science and coach high school football. After some job searching and conversations with current and past teachers, I decided teaching wasn’t for me. I was stuck and not really sure what I wanted to do. I knew I wanted to help people for a living and I was able to tie that into my interests of health and fitness. Working out and managing my diet was something that had become commonplace in my life after my experience in high school. I want to be able to give that to other people.

Now

I am currently studying to obtain a certification for personal training (NSCA-CPT). In addition to this certification I plan on becoming certified as a strength coach as well (CSCS). With those certifications and this website I want to deliver personal success in the areas of health and fitness to those around me. I created this website to spread helpful information provide easy access to my recommendations for your own personal journey.

Thank you for visiting LeanAndClean and I hope I can help you out!
